Meetings

  • The Laramie Advisory Commission on Disabilities meets quarterly.
  • Meetings begin at 5 p.m. each first Thursday of January, March, May, July, September, and November.
  • Meetings are held in the Conference Room of the City Hall Annex, 405 Grand Avenue, Laramie, Wyoming, 82070.
  • The disabled-accessible entrance is on the west side (4th Street) of the building.

Members

The Laramie Advisory Commission on Disabilities consists of nine (9) members appointed by City Council to serve three (3) year terms. Members must be qualified electors of the city. At least three members of the commission shall be disabled or related to a person who is disabled, or employed to work with persons who have a disability, and three (3) members shall be non-disabled.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing disabled accessibility with Laramie City, Albany County, and joint powers facilities.
  • Promoting public awareness on disabled accessibility and employment issues.
  • Serving as a grievance board for issues concerning City structures and program administration as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Working with coordinators to develop a transition plan to remedy problems identified through grievance procedures and/or self-evaluation plans.
