Arraignments & Jailable Offenses
Arraignments
If you are issued a citation that has the "must appear" box checked by the officer in the lower left hand corner of the citation then you have to appear in court (406 Ivinson Street) by the date listed on your citation. You may also appear before the court date indicated on your citation if you wish; Arraignments are held at 9:00 am every weekday except for Wednesdays. If you are unable to appear in court due to extenuating circumstances and wish to plead guilty to your charge, please contact the court office before your arraignment date and information on how to complete a written guilty plea can be mailed to you.

Jailable Offenses
The Laramie Municipal Court only has three jailable offenses, which include driving while under the influence (DUI), driving while under suspension, and failure to maintain liability insurance. If you are issued one of these citations and are unable to afford an attorney, the court office can provide you with an application for a court-appointed attorney. However, the completed application has to be approved by the judge during arraignments. Arraignments are held at 9:00 am every weekday except for Wednesdays.

Note: If you are issued a failure to maintain liability insurance citation and had insurance at the time the citation was issued but the proof was elsewhere, you can bring the proof to the court office to request that the citation be dismissed.
