Organization
The Laramie City Attorney’s Department is comprised of two full-time attorneys (which are appointed by the City Council) and one Legal Assistant (employed by the City Manager).

The City Attorney is David C. Clark and the Assistant City Attorney / Prosecutor is Ashley C. Schluck. Mr. Clark performs all services related to civil cases for the City, and Mrs. Schluck performs all work related to criminal and traffic cases.

Responsibilities & Services
The City Attorney’s Department provides several roles for the City of Laramie, both in the civil and in the criminal areas of practice. Criminal or traffic charges issued by the Laramie Police Department or University of Wyoming Police will likely be handled in the Municipal Court, and prosecuted by the criminal prosecutor, Ms. Schluck. On the other hand, if the City Council or a member of the City staff requests advice on a legal matter, the matter will likely be a civil matter, handled by Mr. Clark.
